The changes we are experiencing in our world currently are triggering a lot of uncertainty for everyone. This in turn can create a cocktail of emotional responses. Among the emotions, Stress and anxiety are probably the two that will be the most common.
One way to manage either of these reactions is to use my S.T.O. P. model.
This is something I created when working with parents as a Parent Coach.
It proved to be a really effective tool for both parents and for their children.
I have adapted it so it can be used by anyone who wants to give it a try.
Stop and Breathe - Stop everything and take 6 deep breathes in and out.
Thoughts - Notice what is happening in your head space. What is going on in your Mindset?
Observe - What else is happening in your body right now ? Who else is influencing your reaction? Is it your problem or is it really someone else's ?
Prioritize - Ask yourself, What Can I do right now to change things ? Maybe get yourself a glass of water as you reflect on the above.
Now - repeat the steps again, only this time take them a little deeper.
Stop and Breathe - Stop everything and take 6 more deep breathes in and out.
After the third breathe and as you release it add a bit of energy to it and blow it out.
As you breathe your next two breaths in feel the air going into the top of your nose and into the back of your head space and then blow it out through your mouth as if you are blowing leaves into the wind until you have completed the 6 breaths.
By now you should find your head clearing, your hands, jaw, or other physical tensions starting to relax.
Thoughts - Notice what is happening in your head space now. What is going on in your Mindset? I am thinking about ____________________
Observe - What else is happening in your body right now ? My teeth are _______________ Hands are _______________ Shoulders are ______________________
Prioritize - What Can you do right now to change things ?
I can ____________________________________ Make the phone call, send the email...
What can't I change ? _________________________________________________
If there no action that you can take at all, then all that is left to do is to literally hand it over to our Creator, the Universe, the Angels or whoever it is that you choose to connect to and ask for the result you long for by naming it.
Often if you can find a pebble or a stone, or maybe even a crystal, you can ask for what it is that you would prefer for the outcome to be and finish by saying
"This or something better, for the highest and best for all concerned. Thank you " .
Visualize an Angel of light, or even a group of Angels collecting the problem and taking it with love into the light.
Next time you think about this problem, remind yourself, It is out of your hands, you have handed it over with love to be looked after already but you you can repeat the message "This or something better, for the highest and best for all concerned. Thank you for continuing to looking after ................".
